Tabitha Community in Action Welcomed Distinguished Humanitarian Adams Madji

From January 22 to 24, 2025, Tabitha Community in Action (TCA) had the distinct honor of hosting Adams Madji, a renowned humanitarian, Man of faith, and entrepreneur from South Africa. His visit was a beacon of hope and encouragement for the communities of Kamesa and Nyabiraba in Bujumbura Province, Burundi.

Upon his arrival, Apostle Madji wasted no time in immersing himself in the mission of service. On his first day, he visited Kamesa, where he extended compassion and generosity by providing food (rice, beans, Oil, and Soaps) for over 60 marginalized women—including widows and rural women—alongside 50 children. In addition to meeting their physical needs, he shared a message of faith and resilience, inspiring them to trust in the Lord despite their challenges.

On the second day, Mr. Madji traveled to Matara, a village in Nyabiraba Commune, a region profoundly impacted by the civil wars between 1990 and 2003. The socio-economic instability caused by these conflicts continues to affect vulnerable groups, including women, adolescents, and people with disabilities. Recognizing the struggles of local farmers, he provided financial support to 60 individuals engaged in agriculture, empowering them to strengthen their livelihoods. With heartfelt prayer and words of encouragement, he urged them to persevere in income-generating activities to uplift their community.

Nyabiraba is one of the nine communes of Bujumbura Province and remains among the most affected by poverty and malnutrition. A community needs assessment conducted by TCA in collaboration with the Rotary Club Umuco and previous reports from the World Food Program reveal alarming statistics: 67% of children under five suffer from chronic malnutrition, 90% of women—many of whom are farmers—were directly impacted by the civil wars, and 80% of them are illiterate. Furthermore, approximately 80% of households in this area live below the poverty line, surviving on less than $1 per day.

Mr. Madji concluded his visit with a meeting at the TCA headquarters, where he engaged in meaningful discussions with the Founder and Executive Director. They explored various community initiatives and potential avenues for future collaboration aimed at fostering sustainable development and lasting change.

His visit served as a powerful testament to the impact of faith, generosity, and community-driven solutions in transforming lives. Tabitha Community in Action remains committed to its mission of empowering the most vulnerable and looks forward to continued partnerships that bring hope and tangible progress to the communities it serves.
